The ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 is becoming a common name in the households of Bollywood stars. Taapsee Pannu, who featured in movies like Dunki, Thappad, Badla and others has got the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS600. She got the delivery of the new car over the weekend.
Taapsee bought the new GLS600 in a shade of Palladium Silver, which is something most other owners of the luxury SUV did not choose. The SUV was delivered to her home.
Mercedes-Maybach launched its first-ever SUV in the Indian market back in 2021. Initially, all 50 units allocated for the country were already sold out. The car remains in very high demand and commands a long waiting period as well. The base price of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 is Rs 2.35 crore, ex-showroom, without any customization options. Taapsee already owns a Mercedes-Benz GLE, which is another luxurious SUV from Mercedes-Benz but not as luxurious as the GLS600.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLS600
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 is only available in a single variant. It is a CBU import, and the model remained sold out for a long time in the Indian market.
The vehicle features the stereotypical Maybach design, including a massive chrome-dipped grille. There are a few other changes in the vehicle. The SUV gets chrome inserts on the B-Pillar and the Maybach logo on the D-pillar as well.
The GLS 600 offers options for both four and five-seater configurations. The four-seater version includes a fixed center console with space for a refrigerator to store champagne bottles, along with silver champagne flutes. Other features include Nappa leather upholstery, an electronic panoramic sliding sunroof, ventilated massaging seats, and much more. We are not sure about the customization options that Taapsee chose for herself. Also, it is difficult to know if the car she bought is a 5-seater or 7-seater as both look similar.
The Maybach GLS 600 is also more powerful than the standard version of the car. It is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 engine that features a 48V mild-hybrid system. The engine generates a maximum power of 557 PS and 730 Nm of torque. The hybrid system adds another 22 PS and a 250 Nm boost on demand. The power is sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The GLS600 also offers a host of safety features, including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, Active Steering Assist, and more.
The Maybach GLS also comes with Adaptive High Beam Assist, Adaptive LED tail lamps, 8 airbags, TPMS, Parking Package with a 360-degree camera, an electronic traffic control system, downhill speed regulation, off-road driving mode, PRE-SAFE system, car wash mode, attention assist, ABS, EBD, safety vests for the driver and passenger, and more.
