While proper pesticide handling is important to protect worker health and prevent contamination, biological control agents, including the sub-category of beneficial insects, must be handled with care to ensure they are healthy enough to perform their desired functions as part of pest control plans.
American Floral Endowment‘s upcoming webinar on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, as part of its ongoing Grow Pro series, will cover best practices, strategies, and techniques to “maximize the success of biological control programs.” Topics of the webinar will include:
- Insights on incorporating beneficial insects and other biocontrols into an integrated pest management (IPM) program.
- Receiving, storing, and handling beneficial insects to ensure their survival and effectiveness.
- Strategies for the proper application of biological control agents.
The featured speaker for “Beneficial Insects Done Right: Techniques for Receiving, Handling, and Application” is Suzanne Wainwright-Evans, the owner of Buglady Consulting. Wainwright-Evans earned degrees in entomology and environmental horticulture from the University of Florida. She has 30 years of experience in the green industry, specializing in biological control and pesticide handling, and has worked with both U.S. and international businesses to manage plant pests.
