The South Korean automotive giant Kia is working on the development of its new sub-compact SUV, Kia Clavis, in India. Most recently, another test mule of this SUV was spotted testing in Hyderabad. This new mule has revealed that it will come equipped with a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, to enhance its safety, it will also come with ADAS. Most likely, it will be launched by mid-2025 in India.

The video of the Kia Clavis being tested in India has come courtesy of Viral Cars Hyderabad from Instagram. It starts off with a test mule seen on Hyderabad roads with thick black camouflage. It managed to hide a number of design details. However, a few new details were still noticed.
The first and major one is that the SUV will be coming with ADAS. This can be confirmed with the help of the sensor which is positioned on the lower front bumper in the center. There is also a camera mounted on the windshield, indicative of advanced driver assistance systems. Most likely, this SUV will be getting level 2 ADAS, which is the same as the Seltos.
Another new key detail revealed from this video is that it will get a panoramic sunroof. Currently, the only sub-compact SUV in India to come with a panoramic sunroof is the Mahindra XUV 3XO. It will be launched later this month. Apart from these two details, there are a few more highlights of this new Kia SUV.
2025 Kia Clavis: Exterior design
On the front, we can note the Clavis will come equipped with vertical LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). These LED DRLs on each side are accompanied by two projector LED headlights stacked vertically. Overall, the front will boast a very boxy design just like the entire body of the car.
Moving on to the side profile, we can observe the main highlight of this SUV’s exterior design. And that is its unique B-pillar. It can be noted that it almost looks like a station wagon. It will boast a set of unique-looking 17-inch alloy wheels and will also get black roof rails. Additionally, the rear continues to boast the boxy design and will get very low positioned LED taillights.
2025 Kia Clavis: Interior design
As for the interior, the Clavis will boast a very premium-looking layout like other Kia models. At the moment, there are no pictures of the dashboard of this SUV. However, previous test mules have shown that it will get a plush-looking dual-tone leatherette interior.
As for the tech, it could come equipped with twin-connected 10.25-inch screens like the Kia Seltos. Other features could include Kia ventilated and powered front seats, different driving modes, and traction control modes.
Additionally, it could also come with a climate control system and a Bose audio system among other kit. The spy shots have also revealed that the Clavis will come with a 360-degree camera and 12 parking sensors (6 on both ends).
2025 Kia Clavis: Powertrain

Kia will likely be offering the Clavis with ICE and EV powertrain options. Not much is known about its EV drivetrain. However, it could be offered with an impressive range between 350 km to 400 km. As for the ICE powertrain, it is believed that the company will offer the Clavis with the same engine as the Sonet.
This means that it could get the same 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which will be able to deliver 120 PS of maximum power and 172 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options might include a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT).
