Finally, after months of anticipation, the Indian car market has witnessed the launch of the new 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift. This brand-new fourth-generation Swift has been launched with a starting price tag of Rs 6.49 lakh, going up to Rs 9.65 lakh. Recently, a video walkaround of the black color of this new-generation Swift has been shared online.
2024 Swift in black

As mentioned, this particular model is finished in the classy shade of pearl midnight black. The company just a while ago launched the previous generation model in the same black color as well.
So, considering its popularity, this new model gets the highly demanded black color from the launch itself. Before talking about the details of the new Swift, it has to be mentioned that the Swift seen in the video is the international spec model. The one launched in India today boasts a few key changes.
Exterior design
At the front, we can note that the new Swift in black looks spectacular. The reason behind this is that it now gets a new honeycomb pattern grille, which comes finished in gloss black. And with this midnight black color, which is also a gloss black color, adds to the overall appearance of the new Swift.
The India-spec model gets the same design for the grille. And it also gets the same new sleeker-looking LED headlights with L-shaped LED DRLs. However, the lower portion of the front bumper is slightly different. In the international markets, the Swift is only offered in two variants. However, in India, there are a total of five variants, namely LXI, VXI, VXI+, ZXI, and ZXI+.
Coming to the side profile, once again, the entire car finished in this black color looks stunning. The car gets a new shoulder line that arises from the addition of the new bonnet. This particular model from the international markets gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. However, the Indian top-spec Swift comes with 15-inch alloy wheels.
The lower spec trims get 14-inch steel wheels finished in black (for VXI and VXI+) and silver (for the base LXI variant). Moving on to the rear, the new Swift now comes with C-Shaped LED taillights with clear lenses. This adds to the premium appearance of the new 2024 Swift. Overall, in this black color, the Swift looks very impressive, and it will soon become a popular choice amongst Indian Swift buyers.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Engine and mileage
For the 2024 model year, the Swift has replaced the K-Series naturally aspirated engine with a new Z-Series engine. This motor has been named Z12E, and it is a 3-cylinder 1.2-litre engine that gets hybrid assist. It makes 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque.
It is being offered with a five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed AMT gearbox. The new manual Swift will offer a mileage of 24.8 kmpl, and the AMT Swift will offer 24.75 kmpl.
