The Benefits of Making Your Own Personal Products
Our grandmas and their grandma’s grandmas did it… there’s just something so freeing about making your own products at home! Modern life is so busy that we outsource many of the tasks that our ancestors just incorporated into their weekly routines.
1. Know the Ingredients in Your Beauty Products
I love knowing the actual ingredients that are being used in my products when I make them. I know that I’m giving myself and my body the healthiest options available!
If you or any of your family members live with any form of allergy, it can be helpful to make your own products, since you control what goes into them. You can regulate the ingredients better and cut down on cross-contamination.
2. Making Homemade Products is Fun to Do Together
Making your own personal products is also a fun activity to do with your kids, or to enjoy with friends during a girl’s night in!
3. Save Money with Homemade Products
I have actually saved money by making my own products! Especially when purchasing the ingredients in bulk, since many of the ingredients can be used for more than one type of recipe.
4. Save the Planet with Homemade Products
By washing and reusing the containers you use to hold all of your homemade beauty products, you are also helping the planet and cutting down on waste.
