The Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer, Ather Energy, has finally launched the Ather Rizta family scooter. The company has launched this larger and family-oriented scooter with an introductory price of Rs 1.09 lakh. The main highlight of this scooter is its seat, which is the largest in the scooter segment in India. It will be offered in two variants, Rizta S and Z.
Ather Rizta: Design
The Ather Rizta is a significantly larger scooter than its siblings of the 450 series. However, despite being bigger, it still boasts a number of Ather design characteristics. At the front, this electric scooter will come equipped with a sleek LED headlamp placed on the lower portion of the front fascia.
Moving on to the side profile, we can note that the scooter looks a lot more like conventional ICE scooters. Yet, it still features the distinct Ather styling cues. It will get a very rounded-off design with curvaceous body panels on the side.
It gets a raised Rizta badge on the side, and just above it is the signature Ather accent strip. It will also get a flat floor underneath which the battery pack of the scooter has been placed. The side profile also gets a huge body-colored panel that connects with the front fascia panel of the scooter.
Moving on to the rear of this scooter, the Ather Rizta will get a wraparound LED taillight. It looks very sleek and goes with the minimalistic theme of Ather design. Like the 450 siblings, the Rizta also gets Ather lettering underneath the LED taillight.
Ather Rizta: Features
As for the part that will be in contact with the rider at all times, the handlebar of the Rizta has been kept similar to the 450 series scooters. It will get similar high-quality Ather switchgear.
The ride mode selector and ignition button will be on the right, along with the kill switch and reverse button. Meanwhile, on the left side, we will get the horn, indicator, and LCD control buttons.
As stated, the biggest highlight of the Ather Rizta is its seat. It will easily accommodate two people along with a bag or any other object in between. Underneath it, there will be 34 liters of storage space.
The scooter will also get a multi-device charging socket which could charge a phone, tablet, or even a MacBook Air. Ather Rizta will also get a frunk with 22 liters of space.
Ather Rizta: Mechanical Specifications
In terms of the mechanical specifications of the Ather Rizta, the scooter will get a brand-new chassis. It has been lowered and elongated to increase the storage and lower the center of mass. This chassis helps the Rizta to achieve a lot of low-speed and high-speed stability.
It will get 12-inch black alloy wheels at the front as well as the rear. Suspension duties will be handled by a telescopic unit at the front. Meanwhile, the rear will get a monoshock suspension.
Rizta Variants and Pricing
The Ather Rizta will be offered in two main variants – the S and Z. The S variant will come with an IDC range of 123 km and get a top speed of 80 km/h. It will come with a 7-inch Deepview display and will be offered in three colors. It has been priced at Rs 1,09,999.
Next up, there will be the Rizta Z with two battery pack options. The bigger battery pack will offer 160 km of range, and the smaller battery pack model will offer 123 km of range, both IDC certified. Both will get 7-inch TFT displays. Both will also get backrests and will come with 7 color options. These variants have been priced at 1,24,999 and 1,44,999.
