What did you miss?
Strictly Come Dancing favourite Chris McCausland wasn’t firing on all cylinders with his comedy this week.
Usually guaranteed to have judges, presenters, fellow celebrities, professional dancers and studio attendees in stitches of laughter every weekend, the 47-year-old majorly flopped whilst attempting to make a Fanta joke on Saturday, 2 November.
He and partner Dianne Buswell had just wrapped up their Tango as members of rock band Kiss for Icons Week.
What, how and why?
Welcoming Chris and Dianne over to the judging panel area, Strictly presenter Tess Daly said: “Listen to that applause Chris. I think Dave Archer enjoyed playing that just as much as you enjoyed dancing it…”
Out of breath, the star replied: “Yeah well you know, dancing a Tango on the BBC, I can only imagine someone’s got to dance a Fanta now just to balance it out!”
Silence descended on the majority of the ballroom audience as Chris added a few seconds later: “Yeah… that was funnier in my head! Shame this isn’t pre-recorded init!”
Mercifully, the segment moved on to Craig Revel Horwood’s analysis of the pair’s Tango.

Meanwhile, Strictly fans posting on social media site X were both confused and sympathetic towards the funnyman.
“Very hard to tell a joke out of breath after an energetic dance,” pointed out one X user, whilst someone else commented: “Don’t worry, I enjoyed your Tango/Fanta gag, Chris!”
Chris said a joke that didn’t land, you can always count on Tess to make it even more awkward with her thousand yard stare and robotic smile. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing
