Team USA vs. Japan: How to watch the first USA Women's Olympic Basketball game today

The USA Women’s National Basketball team is preparing to play their first game of the 2024 Paris Olympics against Japan on Monday, July 29. Team USA is one of twelve teams competing at this year’s Games, and is part of Pool C. They’ll begin their tournament with Monday’s game against Japan, followed by a game against Belgium on August 1, and another against Germany on August 4.

The women’s US national team has proven hard to beat at the Olympics: Team USA has brought home seven consecutive gold medals and they’re shooting for number eight in France. Among its many talented players, the women’s roster includes WNBA stars Brittany Griner, Breanna Stewart, and Diana Taurasi, who’s making her sixth appearance at the Games.

USA vs. Japan – and the rest of the games of the Group stage – will be played at Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, while the final phase of games will take place at Accor Arena in Paris. We’ve got the full schedule and list of competitors of every game; here’s what to know and when to tune in.

There are 12 women’s basketball teams competing at the 2024 Olympics. France gained automatic qualification as the host country. The other countries that qualified are listed below:
