The third largest carmaker in India, Tata Motors, has disrupted the sub-compact SUV segment in the country with the unveiling of the all-new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift. The entire nation is buzzing with excitement as the company announced that the price reveal will take place on September 14. However, before the company officially reveals the price, something unexpected has happened. Recently, a leaked screenshot, which was a direct reply from the company, revealed the price of the base variant of the new Nexon.

According to News18, what happened was that a user, under a recent post from Tata Motors sharing a picture of the new Nexon, asked about the price of the new model in the comments. To everyone’s surprise, Tata Motors actually replied to the comment and stated that the new Nexon facelift will be priced at Rs 7.39 lakh.
But as soon as someone from the company noted this mistake, they immediately deleted the comment. However, just before this comment was deleted, a proactive automotive enthusiast took a screenshot of this and shared it on the internet. This news, following this incident, became viral.
Now, in an attempt to cover up this mistake, Tata Motors has shared an official statement. The statement from the company said, “The pricing of the new NEXON and new Nexon EV will be announced on 14th September 2023. Any related information that you may see prior or being reported in the media is misleading and factually incorrect. The new Nexon is a major upgrade on design, innovation, technology, safety, comfort, and performance.”
Coming to the authenticity of this price reveal, it has to be noted that it is not sure at the moment if this price will really be the price at which the new Nexon facelift will be launched or not. However, if it is true and the company does launch it at Rs 7.59 lakh for the base variant, it could add to the already high popularity of this SUV. This price tag will make the Nexon the most affordable sub-compact SUV in India. Currently, the Hyundai Venue is priced at Rs 7.77 lakh, Mahindra XUV300 at Rs 7.99 lakh, and lastly, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is priced at Rs 8.29 lakh.
The all-new 2023 Tata Nexon mechanically witnesses no change. It will still come powered by the same petrol and diesel engine options. The first option is a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 120 PS and peak torque of 170 Nm. This engine will come available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. Additionally, the company has also introduced a brand-new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. This new transmission option gets paddle shifters as well. On the other hand, diesel variants will continue to offer the same 6-speed manual and AMT options. The power and torque figures remain the same at 115 PS and 160 Nm.
